Oct. 31st, 2009 04:14 pmWho: Anyone and everyone, including some unexpected guests
What: Halloween party, oh yeah!
When: Saturday night
Where: Destiny Islands
Selphie adjusted the hat of her witch costume and surveyed her work. Well, okay, maybe Tidus and Wakka had helped out a little, but this was her idea to begin with! Mentally, she went down the list.
Decorations - check! There were ghosts and bats hanging from the trees, along with the occasional hung skeleton and a vampire or two lurking in the shadows - all fake, of course, but who cared? This was for fun! There was also a cutout of a werewolf up on one of the decks, made to look like it was howling at the moon. She took a peek at it; it would look great in silhouette!
Background noise - check! The boys had set up some soundtracks of scary noises for the background, and set them to play on repeat for the night. She counted it off on her fingers: there were supposed to be ghoulish wails, bat noises, the occasional werewolf howl... She shuddered violently as a shriek rang out, and gave a devilish grin. They'd done better than she'd expected. This party was going to blow everyone away!
Music - check! There was a stereo set up to play some Halloween music, just for today. A pile of CDs sat on the table next to it, waiting for someone to pick one and put it in to play. She trotted over and picked up the first one, but didn't play it yet. That could wait until more people were here.
Food - check! There were two tables set up that were almost completely covered in food. There was a bowl of gum ball eyes - Selphie plucked out a green one and chewed on it happily - and bowls of chocolate, one with a hand sticking out of it that was supposed to grab you when you went for a piece. She couldn't wait to see their reactions when it did! There were cookies with all kinds of festive Halloween shapes, from black cats to witch hats to pumpkins, and... deviled eggs decorated like little devils? Whose idea was that? Well, she decided, if they were the same person that had done those spider cupcakes, they weren't too bad.
Drinks - check! There were coolers decorated like treasure chests spread out around the party area, filled with all kinds of drinks. She would have liked if they creaked when they opened or something fun like that, but that was something they hadn't gotten to do, unfortunately. Maybe next year.
Bonfire - here, she hesitated. It wasn't quite dark yet, so they only had the firewood so far. She was really looking forward to lighting it, but... she didn't have a way to light it. Tidus or Wakka were supposed to bring matches, but they'd left to get into costume or something. She just hoped they came through.
Still, everything else was perfect! And with everyone coming back, they'd have a blast tonight, she decided cheerfully. She just hoped they all had great costumes... Hey, that was an idea! Maybe they could have a costume contest later on! Grinning, she made a mental note and went to sit down as she waited for someone else to show up.

Date: 2009-11-01 12:41 am (UTC)But, so it was that he'd allowed himself to be dragged to the party and no he hadn't let anyone pick his costume for him. He'd gone with something fairly simple. Simple in that he'd simply replaced his normal short sleeved jacket with a long coat that, he realized now, had somehow been cut to fit him like his coat from the Organization had. It also zipped up. But it was off white with a red lined hood, red checkered strips in place of the black ones on his other jacket and large red checkers on the hems of the sleeves, the edge of hood and the bottom hem. The drawstrings for the hood did have some nice little beads on them, in silver with an image of the element they provided a resistance to, fire and ice in this case (so he'd hit the Moogles up something useful, sue him). His one accessory for the costume was a staff, a real one, not a cheap costume accessory type thing. He figured if he was going to do it, he might as well do it right.
Besides which, he suspected the guise of a white mage might possibly make for a decent disguise on some worlds. Hence, the coat wasn't a cheap costume either, but decently made and actually kind of warm.
At the moment, he was wandering around with the hood up. If anyone cared to look him over, they'd realize it was him since he still had his normal sneakers and jeans and he was still wearing his zip up shirt with the Thorn charm on the zipper pull. But, if they didn't think look him over, his face was well enough obscured that he wouldn't be recognized right away.

Date: 2009-11-01 06:05 pm (UTC)She stayed near the edge of the party, watching everyone quietly. She was wearing a very short bell-sleeved dress in shades of dark blue and green, lanced through with silvery gold, and over-the-knee boots. Over the ensemble she wore a black hooded cloak, the cowl pulled up to keep her beautiful, telltale features in the shadows. Her costume though - if one could call it a costume - caught the light of the jack-o-lanterns and the bonfire roaring just yards away.
She circled around the edge of the party, apparently searching for something... or someone.

Date: 2009-11-01 07:38 pm (UTC)Currently she was wearing the white Dreaming robe that had replaced her Organization coat shortly over a year ago, and a set of fully feathered white wings made entirely out of garbage bags and scotch tape. They were tied along her arms, all the way to her wrists, so that every move of an arm made a wing spread or sent plastic feathers fluttering. She was rather obviously enjoying it...
She drifted around near from the food tables, alternating between dancing to the music (making a great show of her wings) and swooping in to grab a handful of crackers or candy or whatever else caught her eye.

"Are you fucking kidding me?"

:3 Because it breaks brains. Why else?

Date: 2009-11-01 08:10 pm (UTC)"Well, because you're Sephiroth. And Sephiroth is both greater and more frightening than Sesshomaru. So, theoretically, you could just dress up as yourself and be even more impressive than you are right now."

Date: 2009-11-02 02:00 am (UTC)She smiled faintly, adjusting the hat of her costume. It was a little awkward, seeing how she really wasn't a hat wearer, but a Red Mage without a hat just looked rather odd. Honestly, it was a rather well made outfit, easily being able to double as normal outer wear outside of Halloween. Not to mention all the hidden pockets with the potions and ethers she carried for those just in case situations. And it gave her a excuse to carry her sword rather openly without people asking too many questions. In all, a perfect costume for her worrywart bodyguard(s).

Date: 2009-11-02 02:10 am (UTC)But he knew that he'd have to leave again soon.
He arrived at the party later than he had expected, and adjusted his costume slightly. Last year, he had been a secret agent - this year, he was a Jedi. He figured it was appropriate enough, even though he had yet to see Star Wars. And a Keyblade was just as useful as a... what did they call it, a light sword? Dagger? Saber? He couldn't remember.
He caught Kairi's eye soon after he ventured into the party, and made a beeline straight for her, his smile growing wider. "Hey Kairi! I'm glad you're here!" I'm glad you're safe.

Date: 2009-11-02 02:37 am (UTC)Actually, Roxas really didn't want to mingle, instead settling for following the one who had made him come in the first place. At least, he noted, she was taking the possibility of trouble into account. And she wasn't the only one using a real weapon as an accessory to her costume, which was a good thing.
Ah, there was Sora. Why he felt a little uncomfortable all of a sudden, Roxas didn't know, but he pushed it aside. He hadn't seen the dork in a while and he had kind of missed him. And he caught the worried undertone in Sora's voice. He didn't comment on it though. Somehow, he thought he might say something he shouldn't if he did.
"Having fun?"

Date: 2009-11-04 05:24 am (UTC)she glanced over to Roxas and smiled softly, noting his expression. It didn't take much to understand it, and she too could say she slightly felt the same. "I'm am. Are you having fun, Roxas?"

Date: 2009-11-02 07:52 pm (UTC)Let's just say he got an idea from his recent trip to the Pride Lands.
Adjusting the long cardboard nose and the rabbit-like ears, Will wandered over to one of the treasure chests and took out a cold soda, popping it open and looking over the rest of the party with a rather uncomfortable expression.

Date: 2009-11-04 05:15 am (UTC)And now that the bonfire was lit and going strongly - although it didn't seem to give off as much light as she'd hoped; it was still a bit dark - it was time for an impromptu event!
She trotted over to the fire, grabbing one of the costumed party-goers on the way, a tall man with silver hair. She didn't know what this guy was supposed to be or anything, but that wasn't a big deal. He had a costume, and that was enough!
"Ooo-kay, everyone," Selphie called loudly, trying to get their attention. "It's time for a costume contest! This guy here - what's your name? I didn't catch it - will be our first contestant! Who else wants to join?"
no subject
Date: 2009-11-04 05:42 am (UTC)"Sephiroth," he replied simply to Selphie's question about his name.

Date: 2009-11-04 06:05 am (UTC)Hen the girl announced the costume contest, he had no desire to join. He was just gonna watch...
Then he saw who the girl dragged up.
"No, stay away from him!" He yelled as he ran up to her and pulled her away from Sephiroth. He knew Sephiroth had been close, because he had been recently plagued by a familiar and unwelcome pain in his heart, but here?
"What are you doing here?"
