Ring the Alarm

Who: Yuna and whoever shows up
What: Monsters are attacking D8
Where: The Great Maw
When: Feb 28
Status: Active

Yuna fluttered back and forth in a worry. She was back near the maw, keeping an eye on the suddenly overpopulated maw. Watching for the most part, hoping that none would suddenly make a rush for the town. For the most part they had just been idly wandering closer every now and again but with each foot closer they got, the more nervous she became.

"Oooooh. I hope they come quick." She muttered to herself, wishing the others to come faster. They were coming closer again, and it wouldn't be long until they reached the Bailey.

(whoops. forgot to mention it earlier but Behemoths are open to any of these so have fun choosing which ones you're fighting. Please note not all of them are defeatable the same way, etc, etc. And all smaller other monsters are free for your own choosing. Have fun and PLEASE KEEP TAGGING. >:)

"Yeah, something like that."

Aria watched for anything heading towards town and didn't notice anything at the moment.

"Yeah, I've talked to them a bit. They seem to understand some of what I say at least."

She shook her head at the expression on Amy's face.

"You're a big girl. You can make your own decisions. I probably shouldn't have come myself but, Hell if I'm going to just sit and wait for Radiant Garden to be overrun by monsters. Even though I'm sure the others can handle it."

She stopped talking and ran to intercept a wolf like monster that was heading towards the town.

"That was my feeling on it," Amy replied, following close behind, sword ready. She was distracted suddenly by a sucking sensation against her boot, and looking down, she yelped.

"The Flan's back for revenge!"

Turning her sword downward, she stabbed the pile of goop through the head, swearing as she realized it wasn't having much of an effect. She frowned as she remembered that she did, indeed, know magic.

"Cripes and a half," She muttered, holding out her left hand and casting Fire. The Flan melted into a somewhat smaller mess, and another stab with her sword finished it off.

Aria was distracted by Amy's yelp and she was caught by surprise when the wolf suddenly changed it's course and lunged at her. Off balance and a little panicked she did two things, reflexively cast Stop and fall on her ass, almost dropping her sword in the process.

She stared at the stopped wolf for a moment before getting up and slashing it repeatedly with her sword.

"Don't forget that you know spells stupid," she muttered to herself after killing the wolf.

Hurrying over to Aria, Amy waved her goop-covered sword in triumph. This fight was going okay so far...which meant that any second now, something would probably try to step on them.

"Yay for dead tapioca pudding! Are you okay?"

She turned to answer but, instead ended up pushing Amy out of the way when a Gargoyle (http://finalfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Gargoyle_(Final_Fantasy_XII)) decided to attack her from behind. Aria got a slash across her back from the monster's weapon as it flew by.

She hissed in pain while turning to face the monster.

"I think we need to pay more attention to the monsters," she said while waiting for the monster to come within range, trying to keep an eye on it and her surroundings at the same time.

"Hey!" Amy stumbled as she was pushed, almost dropping her sword. She caught her balance before she fell completely over, and whirled around to see Aria being hit by the Gargoyle's weapon.

"Shit!" Thinking quickly, she dropped her sword and armed her slingshot with a regular steel ball. Using Stop on the thing while it was airborne probably wouldn't accomplish anything besides frustrating the girls. Better to try to knock it out of the air.

She followed it with her eyes, aiming carefully. Most of her concentration was devoted to this, and she really hoped Aria had her back. Again. She needed to bake her cookies or something, really. Pulling back on the elastic, she fired at the Gargoyle as it swooped towards them, taking out an eye. It bellowed in fury, and she ducked as it flew over their heads.

"...Well, now it's pissed. And thanks."

The Gargoyle didn't give them any time to talk before it attacked again. Instead of dodging it, Aria met it head on and managed get a hold on it's weapon with her left hand though her sword was tied up in the end of it.

"Stop would be a good thing, right about now," she managed to say while struggling to hold on. She was being jerked around quite a bit as the Gargoyle tried to free it's weapon.

"Got it!" Amy yanked out a Stop ball, and forgoing the slingshot, threw it against the Gargoyle. It froze immediately. She grabbed her sword, moved to the side so she wouldn't skewer Aria, and began to hack at it.

Freeing her sword, Aria hacked at the Gargoyle until Stop wore off and it fell to the ground.

After making sure it was dead she cast Cure on herself and got out an Ether.

"I'm going to need a new shirt," she said while opening the Ether.

She looked around at their surroundings and added, "Eeww, I think I prefer fighting Heartless. This is really gonna start to stink later."

"I know I prefer fighting Heartless. Stink is right."

Taking advantage of the pause in the fighting, Amy began cleaning off her sword with the edge of her shirt. She made a face as the goop stained the fabric.

"You're not the only one who'll need a new shirt. I'm glad I'm not wearing my favorite one today."
