Who: Ari, Ray, and a surprise guest or two
What: Epic high sea adventure time
Where: Port Royal
When: sometime in the morning.
Status: Active

To say Ari was nervous was a understatement. While she was undeniably excited to be here again, the thought of what would happen if she did get caught wasn't the most pleasing of thoughts.Taking a deep breath to calm her over active imagination, she grinned brightly, eye twitching just a bit at the scent. Even with the rather....unpleasing smell blocking almost everything else, she could smell the sea from here and it soothed her. She couldn't wait until she was out on sea again, and it was almost distracting on close it was was and how much they had left to do before then.

" So where to first? We need supplies and clothes and.... anything else?" She asked, while taking a moment to make sure the brown wig covered all of her hair. It was quite a good insight on her part to bring one of her more normal colored cosplay wigs when she had all but officially moved into her Radiant Garden apartment from home.

"Clothes first," Ray answered. Her tendency to pick up others' accents came in handy as she slipped easily into that of the locals. Eyes peeled, she looked around for where they should start - she knew that they'd have to be quick about getting clothes so they didn't stick out too much. She paused when she spied a dress lying on a merchant's crate, the man himself turned away at the moment. Ray snuck over, stealthily grabbing it and heading back. She grabbed Ari and ran into the first alley she saw, changing behind a pile of crates.

"I'm gonna go see about getting different clothes and getting you some... Where should we put these in the meantime?" she asked, holding up her normal clothes. "Preferably somewhere that they won't get lost or stolen..."

"Indeed." She looked around and spotted a woman strolling their way. Remembering a certain pirate movie from back home, she looked down at her new dress, and then at the woman's. Yes, this one appeared to be of higher quality, and brand new, to boot. That one looked nice, but this one just seemed... better. "Time to see if this trick'll work in real life," she said under her breath.

She walked up to the woman with a bright smile. "That is a lovely dress," she said by way of greeting. "I rather like it better than mine." She was sure to add a note of distaste in her voice. "D'you think we could maybe trade? You'd be getting the better end of the deal, but this thing just isn't to my liking..."

The lady looked the dress up and down, smiling pleasantly as she considered it. "Why not? That's a nice dress you've got. When would you like to do it?"

"Now would work. Here, we can change in the alley. No one will see us, I'm sure of it." A few minutes later, the woman was walking off, clothes changed. "Almost feel sorry for her," Ray whispered as the poor woman passed the distressed merchant. He yelled when he saw her, accusing her of thievery.

"And that is exactly what I was trying to avoid. Come on, let's get you something, shall we? And maybe then we can get some guys' clothes... might be a bit more comfortable."

She gave the dress a look of distaste. "Corsets... Irritating things. Never had to wear one before this, and I hope I'll never have to again. Anyway, guys' clothes first? Could be easier to get the weapons that way." She walked out of the alley, keeping her voice low. "Not to mention we'll be allowed on a ship quicker," she added.

"When we hit the first tailor's shop, then, I suppose. Should I do the talking again, or do you want to?"

Ray put on a smile for the tailor as they walked in the shop. "Excuse me," she said sweetly, "but my brothers are in need of some new clothes. They've ruined their old ones; you know how boys can be, I'm sure. I don't suppose you have any in stock...?"

The man looked up at them, looking them over momentarily before stepping closer. "Tha' depends on jest what yer lookin' fer," he answered in a thick accent. "About what sizes are ye needin'?"

"Well, the one isn't any bigger than myself, so that should be easy enough. As for the other, he's a tad shorter. We'd probably know the right size if we saw it, wouldn't we?" She glanced at Ari for confirmation.

Ray also nodded, looking back at the tailor as he walked off to find the clothes. After a few minutes, he returned with some things in hand.

"This'll be about yer size, ma'am," he told her, handing her some things. She looked them over to be sure, and finally decided they'd be well enough. As for everything else he'd pulled out for them, she didn't know how what size would be right or not, so she left Ari to judge that on her own as she wandered around to look at some other stuff in the shop.

"Aye, I do indeed," he agreed, smiling proudly. He got the items she asked for quickly, mumbling a quiet "thank ye" when she paid for them. "That'll be all, then?"

"Yes," Ray answered, returning to pick up the rest of the clothes. "Thank you for everything; I'm sure my brothers will love it!" She waved over her shoulder as they walked out, and almost sagged before she reminded herself that she needed good posture to pose as a "lady." She sighed. "Well, at least now we can wear something a little more comfortable."

"Could always head back to the alley," she suggested. "That's suspicious in itself, but possibly less so than an inn. Who'd pay attention to a couple of boys heading out of dark corners, after all? I'm sure it's fairly common, right?" Even so, she seemed unsure.

"Light's always good," she commented. Ray started changing quickly, sighing in relief as she took off the corset. "So where are we going to put the dresses while we're like this? Can't say leaving them lying around is the best idea..."

Finally, she sat on a crate to pull on her new set of boots. She slouched against the wall of the alley, waiting for Ari. "Weapons after this, right?" she asked with a yawn.

She watched wordlessly as Ari messed with her hair, wondering if she should do something with her own, though she had no idea what.

"...Uh. Can you, um. Help with my hair before we go?" she asked, feeling rather pathetic.

"Thanks..." She poked her hair absentmindedly as she thought about their next move. "I haven't see na sword or gun shop anywhere... Don't suppose you know where we can find 'em?"

"Guess not." Walking in, Ray looked around and wondered where the shop owner was. She couldn't see him around... "Oi," she called loudly, trying to deepen her voice a little. She grimaced inwardly when it came out more strained than anything. "Anyone here?"

After a few minutes, she heard some shuffling further back in the store. She craned her neck to see what was going on, only to be met with a glare as the owner appeared.

"Spying on others, are ye, boy?" he growled. "That won't do ye any good. Not if ye want to grow up to be a good, reputable man." He glanced sharply at Ari, not waiting for any reply. "You look... familiar. Have you come to my shop before?"

The man scrutinized her for a moment longer before shuffling around the shop, watching them both through narrowed eyes. "Aye. What'll ye boys be needing, then?" He paused. "Assuming ye can even use what ye buy, that is."

"I'll have you know that our father taught us to properly use weapons," Ray protested. She didn't like this man, she decided. He was rude, and talked down to them... Granted, he probably knew more about the weapons than they did...

He turned his glare back on her. "Ye best be quiet. I'll not be selling me goods to some ignorant brat."

She tried to stamp out the anger that flared within her, but didn't manage it well. She returned his glare in full, and finally turned to look at some of the swords he had on display.

"Suppose I'll let you handle this one," she mumbled.

The man sniffed at Ray and proceeded to ignore her. "Only the basics? Ye really don't know much about them, do ye?" he said under his breath, turning away to look for her choices.

First came the knives. He pulled out three cases, all full of daggers and dirks and the like. Some of them had nasty serrated edges, some of the blades were merely curved. All of them shone brilliantly in the light shining in the shop, showing off the sharp edges and finely crafted metal.

"What of these'll ye be wanting?" he asked with a grin.

A spark of surprise lit up his eyes. "...A fine choice, boy. And what about ye brother?" he asked, throwing a sharp glare in Ray's direction.

She suppressed an annoyed growl and came over to inspect the case herself. She had to admit, he had some nice ones among the selection. She picked one up and ran the blade over her arm, noting how it felt and how much hair it took off. She wiped it off on her shirt and looked at it closely. Overall, it was a very simple design, but it looked like it could do its job better than some of the more... decorative ones the man had.

"This one works for me," she declared. The shop owner nodded and closed the cases, pulling out another to find the sheaths.

"Now... ye wanted pistols, did ye?" he asked as he put those cases away and pulled out five more and opening them. Each held one gun, and some of the ammunition for it.

Ray looked at the guns with distaste. "I'll be fine without one, thanks," she said airily. The shop owner glared at her before pulling out the ammunition for Ari's chosen weapon, putting it all in a pouch and handing it her. He proceeded to put the guns away, and looked at them both, a sharp look in his eyes.

"Ye want swords, too, do ye? Ye can look around for that. 'ere's only a few in the the back, and I can't see ye boys bein' able to pay for 'em."

The action elicited an irritated growl from the man as he turned to watch her examine the swords. To his dismay, Ray joined her soon after, glancing over the swords and on occasion running a finger over the blades. Filthy brats. He'd have to clean those later.

Ray watched Ari pick a sword and chose a nice one close to it, testing the weight and knowing that it was probably completely wrong for her stature. She wasn't a sword fighter, after all. But as she put that one back and tested another, she decided she'd found the right one. It certainly didn't look like it was a bad blade, but she'd have to test it in battle to see for sure...

"Fine," the man barked, taking their swords and putting them in their respective sheaths. Those were two of his finest swords, and he wasn't happy about letting them go to children, of all people. Well, he still didn't expect them to have the proper amount to pay for all this, so he needn't worry. He tallied up the bill and was satisfied to see it was one of the most expensive he'd dealt this week. He grinned and handed it to them, saying in a mocking tone, "Ye'll need ta be payin' for yer weapons up front. Ye got all that, boys?"
