Who: Ari, Ray, and a surprise guest or two
What: Epic high sea adventure time
Where: Port Royal
When: sometime in the morning.
Status: Active
To say Ari was nervous was a understatement. While she was undeniably excited to be here again, the thought of what would happen if she did get caught wasn't the most pleasing of thoughts.Taking a deep breath to calm her over active imagination, she grinned brightly, eye twitching just a bit at the scent. Even with the rather....unpleasing smell blocking almost everything else, she could smell the sea from here and it soothed her. She couldn't wait until she was out on sea again, and it was almost distracting on close it was was and how much they had left to do before then.
" So where to first? We need supplies and clothes and.... anything else?" She asked, while taking a moment to make sure the brown wig covered all of her hair. It was quite a good insight on her part to bring one of her more normal colored cosplay wigs when she had all but officially moved into her Radiant Garden apartment from home.

Date: 2009-03-25 05:08 am (UTC)"I can see if we can leave it with Fox. Since. Y'know. We are in Port Royal after all."

Date: 2009-03-25 05:28 am (UTC)She walked up to the woman with a bright smile. "That is a lovely dress," she said by way of greeting. "I rather like it better than mine." She was sure to add a note of distaste in her voice. "D'you think we could maybe trade? You'd be getting the better end of the deal, but this thing just isn't to my liking..."
The lady looked the dress up and down, smiling pleasantly as she considered it. "Why not? That's a nice dress you've got. When would you like to do it?"
"Now would work. Here, we can change in the alley. No one will see us, I'm sure of it." A few minutes later, the woman was walking off, clothes changed. "Almost feel sorry for her," Ray whispered as the poor woman passed the distressed merchant. He yelled when he saw her, accusing her of thievery.
"And that is exactly what I was trying to avoid. Come on, let's get you something, shall we? And maybe then we can get some guys' clothes... might be a bit more comfortable."

Date: 2009-03-25 10:38 pm (UTC)A soft sigh while brushed invisible dirt off of her High Society dress from the first visit here. Hopefully no one would recognize her even with a different hair color. "Yeah lets. Anything that's more comfortable than this thing would be wonderful right now." A wince as she poked the corseted waist, wondering yet again why she had changed into this instead of the boys clothes before arriving here. 'Oh. Right. Sophie got to it.' Her expression unknowingly turned to one of annoyance, and she grumbled under her breath at the remembrance.

Date: 2009-03-27 03:35 am (UTC)"It's a plan." She murmured back, a tinge of an accent finally showing in her voice. "The faster we get off land, the better as well. I don't think lingering here too long will benefit either of us."

Date: 2009-04-03 09:18 pm (UTC)The man looked up at them, looking them over momentarily before stepping closer. "Tha' depends on jest what yer lookin' fer," he answered in a thick accent. "About what sizes are ye needin'?"
"Well, the one isn't any bigger than myself, so that should be easy enough. As for the other, he's a tad shorter. We'd probably know the right size if we saw it, wouldn't we?" She glanced at Ari for confirmation.

Date: 2009-04-06 12:12 am (UTC)"This'll be about yer size, ma'am," he told her, handing her some things. She looked them over to be sure, and finally decided they'd be well enough. As for everything else he'd pulled out for them, she didn't know how what size would be right or not, so she left Ari to judge that on her own as she wandered around to look at some other stuff in the shop.

Date: 2009-04-06 02:30 am (UTC)There would be some alterations she would need to make, seeing how loose the shirt would most likely be on them. Stopping herself before her brain wandered too far again, she smiled at the Tailor, also requesting boots and those leather vests she spied in the back before paying for everything. Best thing about shopping in the distant past was things were way cheaper and made her inner shopper rather happy.

Date: 2009-04-06 02:41 am (UTC)"Yes," Ray answered, returning to pick up the rest of the clothes. "Thank you for everything; I'm sure my brothers will love it!" She waved over her shoulder as they walked out, and almost sagged before she reminded herself that she needed good posture to pose as a "lady." She sighed. "Well, at least now we can wear something a little more comfortable."

Date: 2009-04-06 03:01 am (UTC)"Any plans on where to do such? We can prolly get a room at the inn down the street but that'd be suspicious."

Date: 2009-04-06 03:24 am (UTC)"It's our best bet though, as long as we change as fast as we can and go though the back alleys." she said. As soon as no one was looking she darted for the closest alley, going deeper into the darker areas before coming to a stop in a abandoned looking corner. "This should be okay for now. It's still early out but that means nothing except that we have light really."

Date: 2009-04-06 03:28 am (UTC)Finally, she sat on a crate to pull on her new set of boots. She slouched against the wall of the alley, waiting for Ari. "Weapons after this, right?" she asked with a yawn.

Date: 2009-04-06 04:04 am (UTC)"Yup. And after that... the boat I guess." Finally redressed, she pulled off the wig, fiddling with it until the bun piece came off before putting it back on. A few brushes with her fingers and she was left with a short page boy hair. Ari giggled to herself, realizing how prepared she was. "Sometimes, it's good to over prepare." A few swipes of her makeup remover and she was done
finally. "Ready to go?"no subject
Date: 2009-04-07 05:13 pm (UTC)"...Uh. Can you, um. Help with my hair before we go?" she asked, feeling rather pathetic.

Date: 2009-04-09 03:38 am (UTC)"At times like this, watching shitloads of hair tutorials on youtube come in useful." She said, splitting Ray's hair in half, twisting the and pinning the top part for later. Making a ponytail and braiding it, she rolled it inwards and pinned it, fluffing it slightly so it looked as neat as she could make it. Releasing the pinned hair, she hand combed it over the rolled section, before tying the loose hair in a low ponytail with.
"There! Instant shorter hair. Hopefully I did a good enough job to be passable."

Date: 2009-04-14 04:06 am (UTC)They went though the twisting alley, Ari almost getting them lost thankfully only a few times before accidentally stumbling upon one of the other smaller weapon shops. "Huh. I guess being away for over six months hasn't dulled my sense of direction too badly."

Date: 2009-04-17 03:34 am (UTC)After a few minutes, she heard some shuffling further back in the store. She craned her neck to see what was going on, only to be met with a glare as the owner appeared.
"Spying on others, are ye, boy?" he growled. "That won't do ye any good. Not if ye want to grow up to be a good, reputable man." He glanced sharply at Ari, not waiting for any reply. "You look... familiar. Have you come to my shop before?"

Date: 2009-04-17 04:34 am (UTC)Taking no chance for him to scrutinize even more, she moved the conversation forward "We're here to get new equipment. Going on a rather distant trip to visit family you see. Don't want to be unarmed if we're attacked on the way."

Date: 2009-04-17 04:50 am (UTC)"I'll have you know that our father taught us to properly use weapons," Ray protested. She didn't like this man, she decided. He was rude, and talked down to them... Granted, he probably knew more about the weapons than they did...
He turned his glare back on her. "Ye best be quiet. I'll not be selling me goods to some ignorant brat."
She tried to stamp out the anger that flared within her, but didn't manage it well. She returned his glare in full, and finally turned to look at some of the swords he had on display.
"Suppose I'll let you handle this one," she mumbled.

Date: 2009-04-21 03:28 am (UTC)"He's right. Our father made sure we could defend ourselves properly with a variety of weapons in case of anything happening." She lied smoothly, mentally going though what Will had shown her the basics of.
"I suppose for our journey we'll just need a few basic weapons you have. Pistols. Knifes. Swords. Either any or all three would do."

Date: 2009-04-21 03:38 am (UTC)First came the knives. He pulled out three cases, all full of daggers and dirks and the like. Some of them had nasty serrated edges, some of the blades were merely curved. All of them shone brilliantly in the light shining in the shop, showing off the sharp edges and finely crafted metal.
"What of these'll ye be wanting?" he asked with a grin.
no subject
Date: 2009-04-21 04:15 am (UTC)However once the case was opened her eyes lit up and she came closer, visually inspecting the rather shiny daggers and such. Her eyes fell on one of the hidden ones and she picked it up, testing it's weight. "A rather good blade." She commented, observing the blade thoroughly. It's handle had a nice grip, and quite a pretty yet simple design, and the blade itself was plain. In all, a good usable dagger yet plain enough not to call attention to which was perfect in her opinion. "I'd like this one."

Date: 2009-04-21 03:24 pm (UTC)She suppressed an annoyed growl and came over to inspect the case herself. She had to admit, he had some nice ones among the selection. She picked one up and ran the blade over her arm, noting how it felt and how much hair it took off. She wiped it off on her shirt and looked at it closely. Overall, it was a very simple design, but it looked like it could do its job better than some of the more... decorative ones the man had.
"This one works for me," she declared. The shop owner nodded and closed the cases, pulling out another to find the sheaths.
"Now... ye wanted pistols, did ye?" he asked as he put those cases away and pulled out five more and opening them. Each held one gun, and some of the ammunition for it.

Date: 2009-04-25 12:38 am (UTC)"This one will be fine." She said, feeling the weight of the pistol in her hand. Not too heavy, not too light.
It hit her at that moment, that it was rather surreal to be hanging out in the land of the Pirates buying weapons of all things. A strange thing to think of after two years of this rather non-stop adventure.

Date: 2009-04-25 01:51 am (UTC)"Ye want swords, too, do ye? Ye can look around for that. 'ere's only a few in the the back, and I can't see ye boys bein' able to pay for 'em."
no subject
Date: 2009-05-11 05:39 am (UTC)"I'm rather confident we can good sir." She said coolly, sweeping past him. It almost felt super dramatic as she did so and she cracked a grin once he was behind her. The swords were a rather decent bunch, though she quietly preferred the ones Will had made. It made her miss her Katana, sighing softly once again over the shattered blade.
She cast a glance over the blades, picking out one at seemingly random. It was at a good weight, light enough for her to swing, yet stable enough that it wasn't worthless. "This one will do." Ari said, observing the craftmanship on it. Hopefully they would hold up throughout their little journey without her needing to reveal her fans.

Date: 2009-05-17 12:18 am (UTC)Ray watched Ari pick a sword and chose a nice one close to it, testing the weight and knowing that it was probably completely wrong for her stature. She wasn't a sword fighter, after all. But as she put that one back and tested another, she decided she'd found the right one. It certainly didn't look like it was a bad blade, but she'd have to test it in battle to see for sure...
"Fine," the man barked, taking their swords and putting them in their respective sheaths. Those were two of his finest swords, and he wasn't happy about letting them go to children, of all people. Well, he still didn't expect them to have the proper amount to pay for all this, so he needn't worry. He tallied up the bill and was satisfied to see it was one of the most expensive he'd dealt this week. He grinned and handed it to them, saying in a mocking tone, "Ye'll need ta be payin' for yer weapons up front. Ye got all that, boys?"
