Aria shrugged. "No particular reason."

Then she noticed Song. "It's a bit early to call him a friend," she deadpanned.

Song tilted her head, looking from Aria to the stranger and back.
"Is he bothering you?" she asked neutrally.

From:

"So you say pointless things just to hold a conversation," he asked slyly, crossing his arms. "I wonder if I should be flattered."

He lowered his sunglasses just slightly at Song's comment, his eyes a very familiar shade of electric blue. "I don't think I'm bothering anyone. Just being polite."

She shrugged again. "It was amusing, at least." She ignored his wondering.

"Not bothered. Just haven't even gotten around to introductions yet."

Song, of course, was completely distracted by that flash of blue. It was impossible not to recognize, but so unexpected that she thought her eyes were playing tricks on her.

She made a vague noise at Aria's answer, but didn't take her eyes off the stranger.

"Well... I'm Song, this is Aria, and this may be a very strange question, but could you take off your sunglasses, sir?" It never hurt to ask politely.

"Now amusement I can understand," the man said again, still smiling as if nothing was wrong. "Though I usually prefer something else to occupy my time."

He turned his head slightly towards Song. "I never refuse a lady who asks something of me so politely." He removed the sunglasses, tucking them into the collar of his coat. He looked back at the two of them, a very faint glow in his supernaturally blue eyes. The odd sense in the air that seemed to surround him grew more pronounced the moment he slipped the glasses off.

Aria wasn't sure she wanted to know what the something else was. She was distracted from thinking about it when he removed his sunglasses. That glow was definitely not normal and she was surprised when the odd sense grew.

She just watched him warily for now, unsure what to say.

Song's eyebrows went up. Well, that was interesting.

".... I know two others with eyes like yours," she said quietly.

He winked at Aria, unaffected by her sudden unease. The electric pressure in the air increased.

Song's words, however, seemed to alert something in him other than the playful flirting. He sat up just a little bit straighter at her mention of "two". "Oh? What are the odds?" He climbed to his feet, brushing off nonexistent snow on his coat. "And here I thought my astounding good looks were rare."

Somehow, though, he didn't seem too concerned, as if he were almost expecting Song's reply.

She rested a hand on her hip, smirking faintly. Dealing with demons had not been included in her plans for the day, but as it seemed to be one of her favorite activities, she was willing to change her schedule....

"Rare, but not unique. Though I admit, I never expected to meet another. You are an incubus, or something similar, aren't you?"

Well, that explained Pancake's reaction. It was actually less worrying than other possible reasons. She was still wary and still didn't have anything to say.

He seemed amused at Aria's silence, but didn't remark on it just yet.

"Well, I suppose you would know," he said to Song, chuckling. "You've been with one recently. Hopefully not my sister though - she's terribly fickle around mortal women."

Song blushed at his words, but wasn't entirely surprised. It just seemed logical that he'd be able to sense some energy signature or demonic 'scent' on her if it was left by one of his own kind.

"Josiah is certainly not your sister, though his companion can be 'fickle around mortal women'. I would assume it's a common trait among succubi, however."

Aria was beginning to feel awkward since she hadn't said anything in a while. Of course it didn't help that she still didn't know what to say.

He grinned at Song's blush, leaning against the railing. "Not many people can say that they've lived through an encounter of our kind." He shook his head at mention of the succubus. "Well, I adore my sister, but she is a trifle stubborn."

He turned his attention to Aria. "More comfortable with a one-on-one conversation?"

"No actually. I just don't have anything to add about the current subject," Aria answered neutrally.

It was Song's turn to laugh slightly, holding a hand to her mouth in a dainty gesture despite herself.
Charming demons had that effect on her.

"Lilith is more than a trifle stubborn, and I adore her immensely." She hadn't even guessed whether or not this 'sister' of his was her friend. Her comment was nothing more than a casual comparison.

"That didn't stop you before, love," he teased Aria, the glow in his eyes growing brighter. He absently reached out, brushing his hand across her wrist. A few more people passing on the stairs stopped and turned, some blushing and others shifting almost uncomfortably. But all turned to look at him, even if he didn't notice it.

"So she hasn't changed much in the past few decades," he mused. "A shame. I really thought..." He trailed off, shaking his head with a rueful smile.

He stepped away from the railing then. "I suppose you couldn't tell me where I could find my beloved sister and her... new companion? I must admit, that must have been very interesting between the three of you."

Pancake wigged out of Aria's arms when he reached out. "Um," She stammered. "Pancake isn't usually afraid of people. It got me curious." She blushed a bit and became silent again.

Song's smile faltered when the demon touched Aria, and she shot him a brief but sharp glare. It was funny, really, how eager she was to interact with a dangerous entity while at the same time wanting him to have nothing to do with her friends, for their own safety.

She was, however, surprised and intrigued by his confirmation that her Lilith was this sister he spoke of.

As to that final comment of his... if he were anyone else, she might have allowed herself to be flustered, even babble embarrassingly, but knowing what she did about him, she simply could not allow herself to give him that satisfaction.

So she just smirked again and tossed her head, sending her hair flashing out over her shoulder in an all too feminine gesture.

"Hmm... While things are always interesting when the three of us are involved, I'm afraid it's never been the way you imagine. Lilith and I are still working on hugs, and while I'd be honored to gain more of her trust - and perhaps something that rhymes with it - I fear it may take a while."

"The creature really shouldn't have anything to be afraid of," the man said cheerfully. "I don't mean any harm."

He turned back to Song. "And you know where I could find her?"

"She's been a bit jumpy lately. She'll probably get over it." Aria took a quick look around to see if the dream hare was still in the area. She spotted the critter a short distance away being cute at a couple kids with snacks. Yup, she'd get over it.

Aria turned her attention back to the conversation though she still didn't have anything to add about Lilith.

Huh. He could be all seductive to Aria but he didn't so much as smile when she tried to flirt and tease. Song was almost jealous for a moment, irrationally.
Though if he was just being decent because she was attached to another of his kind, she supposed she should be impressed by his restraint.

"Lilith left a month ago, with Josiah. They'll be back, but I have no idea when."

"And what about you? Will you get over it?" he asked, leaning forward just slightly.

A month, though. He looked thoughtful for a moment and then flashed a smile at Song. "That long? Now I'm really going to have to find something to occupy my time. I really don't feel like chasing the poor girl halfway across the universe again."
