What: what's a Refugee wedding without epic?
Where: Radiant Garden
When: Wednesday Sep 16th
Sora had never actually been to a wedding before. Birthdays, anniversaries, graduations, even receptions, yes - but weddings? What was surprising was that he had grown up on a small cluster of islands where everyone knew everyone, and friends grew up to marry childhood sweethearts. But for some reason, Sora had never actually gone to the wedding ceremony. Something had always happened - he was sick, he had homework, Riku had challenged him to a race and forgotten that a family friend was getting married that morning but it wasn't like either of them would back down...
He had to ask Kairi in the end what was appropriate to wear to a wedding, having decided last minute that Ryune would be too busy actually planning said wedding to help. It was how he ended up sitting outside of the chapel dressed in black pants that were too itchy, a red short-sleeved dressshirt that just felt wrong, a tie which was doing its best to choke him...and sandals. He had to draw the line for comfort somewhere.
He was glad about the change of wedding date too - it threw off the media. Maybe it would throw off Calum too. Sora was an optimist by nature, knew that everything was going to turn out for the better... but he wondered sometimes, about the light and the darkness and a war that never seemed to be won.

Date: 2009-09-17 02:14 am (UTC)Kairi herself managed to find a pretty purple spaghetti strap dress and a matching shawl and has instantly gotten despite of how little protection it would offer if anything did go wrong. She, however did have her weapon close by as one of those just-in-case things as well. There was no way she was going to depend on Sora and the others to protect her like some helpless maiden no matter how prettied up she was.
So lost in her thoughts, Kairi barely realized she had been messing with the boy's outfits, straightening ties here, brushing off any invisible lint there.

From:WOW I FORGOT MY OWN WEDDING. FAILURE THY NAME IS RYUNE.
Date: 2009-09-16 11:44 pm (UTC)Ryune, in the upper, zippered corset portion of her gown, garters, and a pair of white shorts, ran past her bridesmaids in a panic. Her mom trailed behind with the veil, yelling at her to calm down.
Mom went ignored as Ryune rummaged around in the backpack she'd brought with her, until she held up a pair of holstered knives. With a vicious grin, she strapped them to her upper thigh, and turned to her mother. "Okay. Now I can put the skirt on."
"Renee, why are there knives strapped on your leg."
"Momma, I'm one of the refugees. Shit going wrong is kind of really normal, and I don't want to be unprepared."
"But you've already got your bow and arrows in some kind of magic holding space."
"Those aren't good for stabbing any jerk that tries to ruin my wedding."
Her mom rolled her eyes, and went to get the flouncy skirt, which, while fancy, was easily removed. Ryune had insisted on designing her own dress.
And then, without warning, Ryune started bawling. "I'm getting married in ten minutes!" she sobbed. "I always cry at weddings and Daddy's gonna make some kind of speech that gets me going and I'm gonna cry at my own wedding and ruin my mascara!"

Date: 2009-09-17 01:11 am (UTC)Rolling her eyes and putting her hands on her hips, she said, "Exactly, you're getting married in ten minutes. Do you really want to be freaking out during the whole ceremony? And if you're so worried about crying and ruining your mascara, then you should probably stop crying now so we can get you the water resistant kind." At least then you can cry all you want, she added silently.

They kept their face covered, mostly by the hat, but also by the scarf.

Date: 2009-09-17 01:36 am (UTC)It hadn't taken her long in choosing what to wear; she didn't have an overabundance of formal dresses. But since this was a special occasion, she'd pulled out her favorite one: a slim, pale green dress that fell just past her knees. Of course, she's abandoned her usual pink ribbon for a matching one, as well.
She looked around, watching the others arrive. This was quite the event, wasn't it? Even old acquaintances were showing up, the Others of the Nobodies they'd fought before. It made her happy to seem them here; they hadn't heard from them since...
Aerith paused. Was that...?
It was! She stood and walked to the back, a bright smile on her face. "Ienzo," she greeted warmly. "It's been a while, hasn't it?"

Only... things were a bit more complicated than would have been ideal for this particular reunion.

She wished she'd gotten a small something of holding to put her sword or bow and arrows in, but then again, the bow might be over doing. Most likely, Ryune had hers and she was probably a better shot anyway, having had a lot more practice.
Fox could help but notice Sora's sandals, "Heh, cute."

From:At the alter
Date: 2009-09-17 12:52 am (UTC)He had no clue what feeling nervous was before this moment. Suddenly everything up to and including saving the universe seemed insignificant next to this moment, the moment when he promised himself to the woman he loved for the rest of his life.
Gazing over the crowd, he saw all his friends and family in attendance, his mother beaming with pride and his father throwing him a little wink, his brother giving him a covert thumbs up, and his little sister vibrating with excitement in her new dress. He'd been amazed just how many people they'd packed into this chapel. Heck, he'd been amazed he knew this many people!
Tugging on the formal jacket that was part of the outfit he had recieved on the day Prince Eric had knighted him, Brandon again marveled at the sheer number of buttons and medals his friends had made him for all of his accomplishments. He was particularly proud of the "Getting a price on your head from the English crown" medal. Still, he wondered if the gold shoulder pads were a bit much, or if he had enough zippers.
Turning back, he glanced at his Best man and grooms. Rob was there for him, of course, that beaming smile of his seeming to light up the room as always. Ren stood next to him, looking stylish in her outfit with Alan perched on one shoulder, and he grinned remembering his mom's exasperated reaction to him insisting the girl be on his side of the chapel. Mike and Josh stood side by side, and Brandon couldn't help but remember the time they'd all taken down a Darkside together. It reminded him that with these friends by his side, he could handle anything. There was also Geoff, looking pleased Brandon had let him keep the sword and shield that were his mementos of his own adventures among the stars. of course, in truth Brandon wouldn't have had it otherwise. It made his own decision to have Marvin, the saber glistening from a fresh coat of polish, at his side seem less odd.
Though judging by the crowed, weapons were the in accessory this year, and that was the least odd feature of their guests, plenty of whom weren't even human. It seemed as if everyone he or Ryune had helped in their travels had decided to pay a visit, and seeing them all had warmed Brandon's heart.
Looking back over the crowd, seeing all his friends and family gathered in one place, Brandon decided nervous wasn't the right word for what he was feeling.
He was excited, excited like a five year old on Christmas morning times one thousand. He was excited to be here, excited to experience this with everyone he loved, and most of all he was excited that by the end of the day he would be spending the rest of his life with a woman who he had met among the stars, who had stood up with him to oppose Xemnas, who had fought beside him in battle and stood beside him in countless trials, and most of all who he had fallen utterly in love with.
He supposed the goofy smile on his face wasn't really befitting such a momentous occasion, but he couldn't think of any better way to express how he was feeling.
He was going to get married!

Date: 2009-09-17 02:55 am (UTC)Her heels clicked loudly on the floor, and with a hush already falling over the crowd, she stood out, not just for her dress but for her sheer beauty. And the fact that a good part of the crowd would have recognized her and knew what her appearance meant.
Her eyes flashed when she glanced at Brandon, but other than that, she didn't say a single word.

Date: 2009-09-17 01:19 am (UTC)She had debated for hours whether or not to bring her hammer. Unlike the other weapons she was sure would be at the wedding, the hammer was far from discreet. But she did not like to be without it, especially with...everything going on. She could bring something else, something at which she was less adept but--
no that was a bad idea.
In the end, Auria had taken the hammer. Fuck anyone who gave her funny looks about it.

She sighed once more and leaned back into the chair, slightly not caring how unlady-like she looked.

Gosh, Mickey almost felt the same - and it wasn't even his wedding! Still, he wanted the two of them to be happy; he knew they would be, and they deserved it, too. That's what he was excited for. It was something special to be able to see them start their life together here, and Mickey was proud to be part of it.

Date: 2009-09-17 02:17 am (UTC)What was she forgetting?
Mabry glanced down and saw her baking-stained flannel shirt and stirrup pants. Right. Clothes.
She'd set aside a green velvet broomstick skirt and brown satin tunic with a brighter green sash. She changed into them quickly and pulled her hair back into a ponytail before securing it with a pale green ribbon. There. Now she was ready.
She hurried downstairs to collect her own husband (could it really be nearly two years?) and hurried out to the wedding location, where she slipped into a row and smiled to herself. She was so glad that those two were getting married. She'd always thought they would be a good couple, had smiled when they actually got together, and then had subtly poked Brandon into proposing at the Halloween party. And now, here they all were.
It was good.

Date: 2009-09-17 03:03 am (UTC)HERE COMES THE BRIDE
Date: 2009-09-17 10:09 pm (UTC)It was time.
The massive organ, played by a dapper little man in trailing tuxedo tails, began to moan low notes, warming up as the organist pounded out March Caprice (Ryune, in her perpetual quest for lulz in inappropriate settings, had requested Kingdom Hearts music for all except the main march). Cherry, Cheryle, Ray, Stephanie and Becky all proceeded down the aisle, taking their places at the sides of the altar.
And then, music burst forth from the wall-spanning instrument, trumpeting the beginning chords of Wagner's Wedding March, indicating that it was time for everyone to stand. Ryune stood at the back of the chapel, her arm in her father's, trembling in absolute terror. Heartless? Eh. Maleficent? Meh. Xemnas? Whatevs.
Getting married?
She gripped her Daddy's arm tightly and whispered "we need to go now before I bolt for the gummi ship."
The walk down the aisle felt like an eternity. Ryune stared straight ahead, smiling in spite of being scared spitless. She did catch glimpses of people - Braig and Miranda, Ienzo, Sora, Auria, Roxas... Eric? Holy hell, Ryuu? Orpheus?!. It slightly amused her that everyone appeared to be armed.
Brandon, and all their friends, were waiting for her at the front. The large bouquet in her hands shook, giving a visible sign of her nerves. And even though it felt like forever, she was there at the front before she could even realize it, and her Daddy was lifting her veil and kissing her on the forehead.
It's finally happening, she thought as she climbed the steps and handed her bouquet to Cherry.
Holy shit.
OOC!

Date: 2009-09-18 02:51 pm (UTC)She had her lightly-armored travel-cloak buttoned with a singular frog enclosure, wrapped with the scarab brooch inset with the orange carnelian, over her new classic neo-Victorian dress, a long simple gown in mint trimmed with chocolate ribbon and a very light amount of lace. Her staff in hand, she stepped to the side back of the church and watched the procession as it moved toward the altar. When the wedding party finally reached the altar, she found herself a seat quietly behind other guests.

Right after Maleficent casts the nightmare spell...
Date: 2009-09-23 02:55 am (UTC)She was wrong, of course. She had come to expect that by now.
Rox had no magical resistance - the locket, whatever it's still-mysterious purpose was, apparently wasn't made for that. The spell took effect immediately and she fell back, her head resting in a position that would undoubtedly result in a crap later.
What was not apparant, however, was that her mind had not reached its intended destination. There was no worst nightmare, no deep sleep, but something perhaps worse.
The doors were closed on both sides, and there would be no easy way out for this now-sleeping refugee.
((OOC Note: erm, tl;dr, Rox is going to need some help waking up. The spell may need to be broken by someone else, but I'll talk to Mabry about what's going on when I see her online to make sure I haven't just seriously screwed up.))
