Who: Rakath, the crew of the Dagda
What: A simple Job... that for pretty much anyone is suicide.
When: A week or so before the Party.
Where: The Dagda, and a desert in Invalice.
Warnings: Well, its Rak and Aya, so honestly if you are shocked by the fact that there is both violence and swearing you really don't know us as well as you think.
Status: Statusy.
Rakath put his goggles on. Covered head to toe in purple or black silks. Not a bit of skin showing. A mask over his lower face, a bandanna covering his hair. "...I am completely insane. Totally and without a doubt insane. OH WELL!" Rakath ran across the desert moving, dragging the wind into his spirit, controlling the winds around himself to make a sandstorm. A cushion of air under his feet, skating over the desert toward a ship. A ship he knew pretty well, he was there to help it get an overhaul a year ago.
Which now should come in handy. As his makeshift sandstorm came closer and closer to the ship he readied for what was going to be really really unfun. Even less fun than skating a desert inside a goddamn sandstorm. The air itself carrying his storm to the side of the ship. As the storm past over the side of the Dagda the purple haired mercenary did a dramatic Aura Cannon powered leap onto the side into one of the hatches.
Didn't take a lot of work breaking through the hatches, "Well, that's the fun part done, sandstorm, in the ship, now for the demolitions..." Rakath looked around, "that way!" He launched down the hall. Wouldn't take long for someone to realize he was here. Hopefully he could trash the engines, weapons, communications, and be out of there before-
"HEY YOU! How'd you get i-" The pirate's words were halted by an aura powered punch to the gut, then an elbow to the throat.
"So much for that idea." Rakath created a burst of aura under each of his feet and skated toward the engine room. He pulled off his mask and bandanna. Way too hot for that stuff in here. "Right, so now is when I really hope Aya isn't anywhere NEAR the engine room!"

Date: 2009-08-10 09:55 pm (UTC)It sounded kind of cool.
For enterprising Rakaths, he'd be pleased to know that Aya was nowhere near the engine room. Like a good captain, she's on the bridge, managing the steering through the rather sudden sandstorm that had popped up. Truth be told, ever since the crazy weather started hitting all the worlds, sudden sandstorms didn't strike her as so weird. "Jeeze!" she grumbled, giving the wheel a sharp yank. "Might have to take it to the atmosphere to avoid this one. Hang on tight, boys, this could get a little rough!"
While there was no Aya, the engine room definitely wasn't empty, occupied by a pair of burly men in...labcoats, carefully monitoring the mysterious gummi conglomerate that apparently ran on happy faces.

Date: 2009-08-10 10:17 pm (UTC)"Right, don't happen to know where the arcade iiiiiiiiiiiiiiis," Rakath barely dodged out of the way of that punch, giving an Aura cannon to the... Rak fights dirty, let that cover it. And being slammed into a wall by a shot of Holy energy to that location, ow. To make sure Rakath gave him a Stopaga shot as well.
"Right, first thing first, Warp Gummi." Rakath found it and blasted the thing with a full power Aura Cannon, "That covers that. Next up," Rakath found a console and got to typing out a lot of commands. "Power systems... reroute it to the weapons... Diagnostis... override the warnings and..."
A HUGE string of explosions rocked the ship as all the weapons systems overloaded at once.
Rak turned around and hit both of the guys with Stopaga shots again to keep working. "Now then, reroute navigation controls to the engine room and let's just nosedive this now and lock out course corrections." Rakath started humming to himself as he finished up his bits of sabotage. "And to find the controls to the communications systems... Right, I need to trash their laptops too to get rid of Refnet!" Rakath facepalmed at his forgetfulness. "At least the weapons systems crash took out some other systems, communications would probably not be too useful right now. "Hopefully the rest of my chaos will keep them outta my hair, at least till I'm done with the networked computers."
"Now then, let's just hope nobody discovers my work..." Rakath sighed and got up, and started his way for the captains quarters. He should hurry now, he won't be going unnoticed now.

Date: 2009-08-10 10:41 pm (UTC)"Captain, the Gravity Cannon just exploded!"
"We've lost our warp gummi!"
"The engine room isn't responding!"
Aya's stomach dropped and she immediately took off out of the bridge. "Someone's in the ship!" she exclaimed, jumping to the logical conclusion for why so much shit was fucking up at once. "Code red! Go to code red!" At that, an even LOUDER classic klaxon alarm started up. A moogle picked up the intercom to add details of a possible intruder on the bridge.
Meanwhile, Aya thundered down the corridor to the engine room, spotting the destruction wrought within. With a roar, she tore the Spine free and searched the room briskly. Seeing as whoever did this still wasn't there, she ran off back to the bridge, fearing that would be the next place hit.
The captain's quarters-Aya's room essentially-was in disarray from the violent turbulence the ship had endured. Her laptop had fell against the walls, some of the drawers were hanging open, and the bed was a mess. The bed probably would have been a mess regardless of the explosions down below though. In the corner, there was a small safe that was fine seeing as it had been bolted very, very firmly to the floor.

Date: 2009-08-10 10:56 pm (UTC)Man that alarm was annoying, he should have disabled those too! Ow, ears hurting. When he flew into Aya's room he discovered one very distinct problem with his current plan. AYA WAS IN THE ROOM! "Well... this is awkward," Rakath shot the loaded Thundaga shot into the computer by the wall, "I was looking for a room you weren't in, I'll be going now!"
Now that he had taken out the ships external communications, the access to Refnet, weapons, engines, and set it to crash into the ground. Now all Rakath had to do was not get killed by Aya while he escaped. Which was pretty much the reason why he asked for triple pay.
Rakath kept his eye on the door, and his eye on Aya. This was not going to be an easy bit of running.

Date: 2009-08-10 11:16 pm (UTC)Then he shot her computer.
He shot her computer.
He shot her computer.
Friend to Aya or no, mess with her computer and consider your life forfeit. "RAAAAAAK!" she roared like a giant monster out of a Gozilla movie and exploded out of her quarters, chasing after the Refugee. "RAK YOU SON OF A BITCH I'M GOING TO KILL YOU! I'LL RIP OUT YOUR LITTLE INTESTINE AND MAKE YOU BUNGEE JUMP FROM IT OFF THE HULL!"
The ship rocked again and began to list, panicked voices sounding throughout the intercom as the bridge erupted in chaos. "CAPTAIN! WE'RE GOING DOWN! WE CAN'T MAKE HIM PULL UP!"
Hissing in anger, Aya leveled a palm as she ran, shooting off a rather fierce blizzard spell at her fleeing former friend.

Date: 2009-08-10 11:35 pm (UTC)However the mixing of magic and spirit like that is not a recommended way to do anything and the blast smashed Rakath into a nearby wall, "Ow..." Rak got up slowly, "I need to work on that..." Rakath leveled his gun to Aya, "I really would rather you just let me escape now, you need all that energy for the guys coming next."
"But... if you won't..." Rakath fired the shot at Aya before he made another attempt to find a nearby exit. "It'd be better my shot wear off before they show up! TTFN!" Rakath skated down the hall on jets of Aura.
He's really not getting paid enough for this. Okay, he is, but it's still off the edge of reasonably insane, even for someone like Rakath.

Date: 2009-08-10 11:56 pm (UTC)"Guys coming next?" Aya growled, slowly lifting her other hand, "What guys comi-" in that split second, she slapped the gun to the side, not hard enough to knock it out of Rak's hand but enough to divert the shot to the corridor behind her. The Spine was driven forward, sinking into the wall where Rak was seconds after he fled.
It took her a precious minute to yank her weapon out before she could resume chasing after Rak. "WHO'S COMING NEXT?!"
Another shock shook the ship as it collided against the ground, settling against the sand, then sinking a little. Other footsteps could be heard throughout the ship as the crew streamed towards the engine room. Of the handful left on the bridge, the moogle peered down at the radar which started to register an extremely large approaching object. "...caaptaaaain...?"

Date: 2009-08-11 12:19 am (UTC)Rakath's Aura jet cushioned the crash, at least for him, the ship shook as it settled in the desert. "Oh hey, roof hatch," Rak blasted the hatch open and hopped up top on the Dagda. And look, the cavalry was here. Rakath walked toward the side of the ship that the incoming Imperials were on.
Rakath holstered his gun for now. If he had to fight Aya, it was to keep her busy while the Imperials got closer. However this was the end of his job, he should just get out of the way now. He sighed, "Job done."

Date: 2009-08-11 01:01 am (UTC)Rak got a few minutes before the very irate captain joined him, breathing heavily as she pulled herself up on top of the hatch. She'd ignored the squalling from the bridge, knowing very well that the situation was currently "crap." She drew herself up, stretching lean muscles honed over the past two years from fighting for her life.
"Rak! You-" she started, only to freeze suddenly, staring up at something beyond the Refugee. A massive airship was hovering overhead, one Aya vaguely recognized because she had played part of the game and seen a few cutscenes. She'd never had the displeasure of seeing it in person like she was now. Her throat went dry as her mind raced, trying to figure out what to do about this.
"SHIT! SHIT SHIT SHIT!" she yelped and promptly dove back down into the Dagda.

Date: 2009-08-11 01:08 am (UTC)Yeah, Aya already was back in the ship by this point, but he had to at least say it. Even if she didn't hear him. It wasn't like this job was fun to him. Okay, the thrill of running right into what should be purely suicide, that was fun. But the fact that it was a former comrade.
The price of business.
Rakath launched off the Dagda with jets of Aura from both hands, catapulting himself into the sky. Using Razor Gale and Glide to fly off to where his ship was, "I gotta go get my pay soon enough. So this is a dance for just you guys."

Date: 2009-08-11 02:42 am (UTC)One side of the massive beached gummi ship suddenly bulged unexpectedly. A loud slam and the bulge widened. Then again, and again until it split open, spilling gummi blocks across the desert sands. From the hole, an orange and white gumdam crawled forth, thrusters on the back flaring to life.
Aya knew it was suicide to engage the Leviathan with the comparatively tiny craft/giant robot. For the sake of her crew and ship, however, and perhaps her own survival it was something she had to do. With a heavy sigh, she lifted the arms of the gumdam, aiming the forearm-mounted fira-gs at the airship and firing, distracting it with strafing maneuvers as she flew for where those on the bridge of the Archadian craft could see her.
