Who: Eeeeverybody!
What: Party time has finally arrived! Time for everyone to relax a little after all the recent craziness.
Where: Tifa's Bar
When: Friday, Aug. 7
Notes: Open log, thread however. Try not to break the bar.
Everything was ready to go. Seventh Heaven was sparkling clean for the occasion, tables and chairs spaced out nicely across the room. A table against the wall was loaded with a wide variety of food and drinks, both homemade and storebought, and another table held a stack of games in case anyone was in the mood. It was a pretty simple set-up, but everyone who had helped seemed to think that it was just right.
Jenn was nervous, and excited. Finally, she was going to meet all of the people she'd been talking to on the network this past month! She'd been eagerly waiting for this party ever since they'd started set-up (and the chocolate-chip cookies over on the snack table were Jenn Specialty). Now they just needed to arrive. Being the self-designated greeter, Jenn took up a position by the door and waited to point people to the snacks. She made a valiant effort not to look like an overexited geek.

Date: 2009-08-10 07:18 pm (UTC)She didn't say anything about "Bruce"'s line of work - if she remembered correctly, he had worked for Xanatos that year Earth had gone boom, and even though Gargoyles had been more of her brother's show, she remembered enough to know that Xanatos had been one of those amoral characters who danced on the line between good and evil. She sort of suspected what that meant about "Bruce", but didn't really worry about it. If worse came to worse, they could throw a Song at him to talk some sense into him.
"Jenn, the answer to most of Bruce's questions is "because Disney magic made it happen" and probably the answer that will give you the least amount of headaches," she commented dryly, glancing over at the snack bar. She gave "Bruce" a quick glance-over, and allowed a half-smirk to come onto her face. "Now, now, Bruce. Zippers are a lot easier to come undone than belts - that could come in handy in...certain situations."

Even if you have a valid reason for zippers. Personal experience?" Bruce grinned wider at the question he was certain he wouldn't get an answer to.

Date: 2009-08-11 12:10 am (UTC)"Onions and peppers make the sun rise?" Jenn repeated, giving the purple-haired guy a look of wide-eyed innocence. "And all this time I thought it was the rotation of the earth in space! How could I have missed that?" Completely straight-faced. 'Bruce' wasn't the only one who could act.
The wizards exlanation was an interesting one. Jenn propped her elbows on the table, folded her hands, and rested her chin on them, giving both of her conversation companions interesting looks. "But are ALL people who can do magic wizards, or do they go by other names? There's magicians and spell-casters and ordinary people who tried a spell and goofed it up, I would assume. And they'd probably cause a few problems on their own." She gave Bruce's outfit an appraising look, stroking her chin thoughtfully. "Y'know, honestly, I think you can go either way depending on how you use them. And they mix pretty well, if Sora's outfit is any indication at all."
A wry grin crossed her face. The other two wouldn't be able to know why, since the reason was her remembering the time she had to draw Sora's outfit. Guy had the most ANNOYING shoes to draw in the universe, honestly.

A thoughtful look appeared on her face at Jenn's comment about magic-users. "Well, there are magicians, sorcerers, wizards, witches, enchanters, seers, shamans, warlocks...um...probably some other ones in there. I guess it really just depends on what the person wants to be called." She recalled one certain "witch" who despised the title, but she had found humor in calling him one.
She wondered if he still did.
...and those pizza rolls were starting to call her name. She gave the other two an apologetic smile, and nodded her head towards the snack table. "Okay guys, those pizza rolls are starting to look very, very appetizing right now. You-" She jabbed a finger at "Bruce". "Stay out of trouble, okay? And don't go disappearing off into the multiverse again. And you-" This time she grinned at Jenn. "Don't let him tell you too many tall tales."

Date: 2009-08-12 09:41 pm (UTC)As Chase moved for food, Bruce raised an eyebrow, "Hmm... never seen that before at a party here." All this show for Jenn leading to... actually, nothing was going on where Bruce's attention was. Whenever Jenn turns back, the man with purple hair is gone, so is his stuff... except a bottle of Dr. Pepper on the table.
End Thread
Date: 2009-08-13 02:47 am (UTC)Jenn totally fell for Bruce's comment, twisted all the way around in her chair to look for whatever it was he was pointing at. "I don't see anyth-" When she turned back, she was thoroughly startled to see that the purple-haired guy was gone. It took her a second longer to realize what was sitting on the table in his place.
A bottle of Dr.Pepper.
Jenn stared at it in complete surprise for a long moment, and then took a few glances around the room to try and spot the guy. But he was gone. She returned her gaze to the bottle of Dr.Pepper, and a warm feeling spread through her as she wrapped her fingers around the neck. Anyone looking would have seen a very large, touched smile on her face.
Little gestures were not so little to this Refugee. What a nice guy. Little bit funny and with a very unique (aka confusing) way with words, but still. That was a sweet thing to do.
She laughed softly to herself and rose from the table, taking her plate with her to go look for someone else to talk to. That was definitely the most interesting conversation she had had in quite a long time.
