Who: Eeeeverybody!
What: Party time has finally arrived! Time for everyone to relax a little after all the recent craziness.
Where: Tifa's Bar
When: Friday, Aug. 7
Notes: Open log, thread however. Try not to break the bar.
Everything was ready to go. Seventh Heaven was sparkling clean for the occasion, tables and chairs spaced out nicely across the room. A table against the wall was loaded with a wide variety of food and drinks, both homemade and storebought, and another table held a stack of games in case anyone was in the mood. It was a pretty simple set-up, but everyone who had helped seemed to think that it was just right.
Jenn was nervous, and excited. Finally, she was going to meet all of the people she'd been talking to on the network this past month! She'd been eagerly waiting for this party ever since they'd started set-up (and the chocolate-chip cookies over on the snack table were Jenn Specialty). Now they just needed to arrive. Being the self-designated greeter, Jenn took up a position by the door and waited to point people to the snacks. She made a valiant effort not to look like an overexited geek.

Date: 2009-08-08 06:31 am (UTC)"Being social is not an answer." Jalen complained as she tugged him through the door and over to an empty table. She hadn't been the only one questioning her decisions. "You don't like being social unless you're comfortable with everyone. I don't like being social even when I'm comfortable with the company. Why are we really here?"
"To be honest, I'm not really sure." Amy sat down, tugging on her shirt a little, trying to disguise the bump. It wasn't incredibly noticeable if she was wearing a baggy shirt, which she was, but her shyness was kicking in again. It was kind of stupid, she knew, since the whole community knew she was pregnant. Old habits die hard. She thought, glancing up at Jalen. He'd taken a seat across from her, but was watching everyone else.
"I can get you something if you want. No cookies though," He amended as he looked back at her. "You eat enough of them at home."
"Do not," Amy countered, then grinned. "Hey look, Aria brought Pancake. Why don't I just call her over, and we can see if the bunny feels like cuddling you today?"
Jalen's eyes widened, and he stood abruptly. "I'll get you some cookies. At the other end of the table." He quickly disappeared before she could tease him further.

Date: 2009-08-08 07:01 am (UTC)She gave her shirt another tug, blushing faintly. Oh, she was hopeless. "So am I. Bet Eli ends up taking after his father in the looks department. Sorta hoping he doesn't take after me in the getting-into-trouble department." Her shoulders rose and fell in a shrug at Ray's last question, and she shook her head.
"Okay, I guess, though sometimes it feels more complicated than that. Debating going to the Star Market or stopping by Heatherfield to see my grandparents while everything's quiet. Should probably do the latter. So how've you been? Aside from all the 'fun' stuff going on?"

Date: 2009-08-08 03:21 pm (UTC)Ray nodded sagely, becoming a little more serious. "Yeah, I understand. A little too much going on without feeling this big mess of stuff, good and bad. But hey, such is life." She chuckled. "Star Market seems to be a lot more popular than it was last year. I can't wait to go again; they've got some pretty great stuff. You could always go and then visit your grandparents, or the other way around. Whichever works out for you, you'll probably have some fun. But I have to warn you, if you do go to the Market, some of the shop owners might try to use Eli there as a price tag. Some of them are a little sketchy like that."
"Me? I've been pretty good, considering. Became a pirate not too long ago. Ari and I got our own ship, did you know?" Ray's eyes sparkled. "But I gotta say, the whole fairy thing I could have done without. It's kind of annoying when Peter Pan and other fairies are the only ones who can understand you. As for everything else..." She shrugged. "I dunno, maybe I'm just weird, but I do kind of think some of this stuff is fun. It'd be more fun if a certain friend of ours wasn't in constant danger, but that's beyond our control for the moment. We'll figure it out, though."

Date: 2009-08-08 08:50 pm (UTC)She settled back a little in her chair and tapped her stomach lightly, eyes drifting over to watch Jalen at the food table, doing his best to avoid being noticed by Pancake. "I keep thinking they'll be disappointed in me if I go have fun before I visit them, but I think that's just my upbringing talking." Turning her attention back to Ray, she made a face as she considered creepy shop owners. Ugh. Sure, have the color of my unborn child's right eye! She thought sarcastically. No problem at all.
"Heh, pirates. Can't stand 'em. Well, okay, if they're my friends, that's one thing. But you know, Calum kinda ruined things for me...bleh. Your own ship? Really? I'd love that...if I didn't get seasick, anyway." Giggling for a second, she motioned to Jalen, who had been headed back to the table with a cup in one hand and a napkin full of cookies in the other. He'd stopped when he'd seen Ray, and was hovering indecisively. She gave him a look, and he walked back over, setting the snacks down before taking another chair.
"Ray, the infamous Jalen, who needs to visit Neverland sometime. I think he'd do well as a fairy, don't you?"
Her husband's eyebrows raised until they were nearly in his hair before he sighed and held out a hand to Ray. He wasn't even going to ask.

"You should come visit her sometime! She looks pretty damn good when she's not torn up by a storm or something. And hey, if you get seasick, we'll take care of you, no worries."
Ray grinned up at Jalen and shook his hand. "I think he might. I'm Ray, nice to finally meet you. Been hearing quite a bit from your wife here." She winked at Amy.

Date: 2009-08-09 06:06 am (UTC)"I don't want to be a fairy," Jalen suddenly announced, taking his hand back after shaking Ray's. "I don't know what you two have been plotting, but it doesn't need to involve me." He eyed his wife, who was trying to nibble a cookie without laughing. "I'm sure most of what she's been saying has been entertaining."
Swallowing her cookie bits so she could giggle without choking, she reached over and poked him. "Everything about you is entertaining. Especially the-" She was cut off by Jalen thrusting the cup of fruit punch at her.
"Drink, you look thirsty."
"Awe, spoilsport. He has no sense of humor, Ray."

Date: 2009-08-09 08:47 pm (UTC)She laughed at Jalen's declaration. "I didn't either. Unfortunately, the multiverse seems to have a sense of humor and doesn't care what anyone else wants, y'know?"
"Well," Ray said, leaning over to whisper in Amy's ear, "we could always conduct some experiments and see if he really does have one, hidden deep in there somewhere..."

Date: 2009-08-09 10:56 pm (UTC)Jalen set the cup down before reaching over to push a strand of Amy's hair back. She blushed, pulling away to listen to Ray before looking back at her husband with a smirk. "We could..."
He was watching them both suspiciously.
"...You two go find someone else to harass. There are plenty of people here!" He pointed towards Roxas, then Donald. "See?"
"But Jalen, I love you! And Ray's just trying to make friends..." After a few seconds of mock-sniffles, her face slipped into it's best kicked puppy expression. He was either going to melt, or start thunking his head against the table. Ah, the joys of married life.
