Party Thread (because I'm so clever with names)
Who: Eeeeverybody!
What: Party time has finally arrived! Time for everyone to relax a little after all the recent craziness.
Where: Tifa's Bar
When: Friday, Aug. 7
Notes: Open log, thread however. Try not to break the bar.
Everything was ready to go. Seventh Heaven was sparkling clean for the occasion, tables and chairs spaced out nicely across the room. A table against the wall was loaded with a wide variety of food and drinks, both homemade and storebought, and another table held a stack of games in case anyone was in the mood. It was a pretty simple set-up, but everyone who had helped seemed to think that it was just right.
Jenn was nervous, and excited. Finally, she was going to meet all of the people she'd been talking to on the network this past month! She'd been eagerly waiting for this party ever since they'd started set-up (and the chocolate-chip cookies over on the snack table were Jenn Specialty). Now they just needed to arrive. Being the self-designated greeter, Jenn took up a position by the door and waited to point people to the snacks. She made a valiant effort not to look like an overexited geek.

As the Gummiship neared a clear landing site, a burst of flame suddenly spurted out of one of the engines, sending the craft into a sideways roll. Zero grabbed the controls and pulled left hard. A few seconds later, the Gummiship touched down at an awkward angle right next to the Seventh Heaven bar, wobbled for a moment, and then crashed over on its side, sending a few Gummi blocks flying. A frustrated Zero popped out of a side hatch. "Damn it...this'll take at least a week to fix..."

It took her a minute to recognize Zero as she had only seen him a couple times and had never really spoken to him.
"...You really need to work on your landings."

Zero paced once around his Gummiship, thinking, then sighed. "Ok, sorry, you've gotta remind me who you are."

With a crack, one of the Gummiship's wings broke off. Zero turned around and looked at it in disbelief. "Oh, damn it! That one should've been good for another 3 months! Stupid refurbished parts...anyways, me crashing isn't strange. But, party?" Zero sniffed the air and his smile widened. "Excellent! Finally some good food! All I've had on-board for the past week was instant noodles..." Excited, he walked towards the bar, glad to be back somewhere familiar.

She stopped again with a newcomer entered into the bar. She bit her bottom lip in thought as déjà vu hit her - she didn't know a lot of the Refugees, and was famously terrible with names. She stared at him for a very long time, and laughed quietly to herself when she realized how rude she was being. That's why she believed strongly in nametags (although, in the case of some people, nametags would be pointless too).

She spotted Aria coming back inside just then, with a guy she didn't recognize (but that wasn't saying much, all things considered). "Hey, Aria! What happened? It sounded like a car tipped over." She blinked, then said with a half-smile to the guy, "Sorry, hi there. Anyways I was in the bathroom and I heard this really loud noise, did you see what did it?"
She was seconds away from running to the door to check for herself, but she willed herself to wait and see if either of the pair had an answer.
