"Yours?" He asked with a shrug.

"Hey, you said yourself that it was an experiment, right? How can the result of an experiment be your fault? It's like when blaming yourself when creating a new recipe for cake, getting help from someone for a tricky bit with the frosting, and the cake tastes bad." Kurtis scratched the back of his head. "Ok, poor metaphor."

"The point is... well..." He struggled with words for a moment. "Ok, you went out and tried something new. It's like inviting someone to an icecream shop you like, when you hear there's a new flavor. You can blame yourself if the icecream tastes bad to you, but there's really no point. And you both go home anyway, having tried something, and created an experience you can laugh about later. And the ice cream shop is still a pretty cool place. Still a not a good metaphor, but better."

He nodded, in an attempt to be reassuring.
