Who: Roxas and a rather unresponsive(?) Ventus
What: Roxas is just wandering Yen Sid's tower and comes across the sleeping Keybearer...
Where: Yen Sid's Tower
When: The next day after this log
Notes: BBS Spoilers
Status: Complete

Among the things Roxas had to get done was some laundry. Predictably, there wasn't a washing machine or a dryer in the tower. There was, however, soap and a washboard. While it was a little more time consuming than Roxas would have liked, but it was better than nothing. The brooms helpfully directed him to somewhere to hang his clothes to dry.

The fact of having to hang his clothes to dry left him with a bit of time on his hands. He very briefly considered asking Yen Sid about learning some magic, but really, he did have a decent spell repertoire already and he didn't like anything he'd heard about Yen Sid's training methods. So he left off that idea and instead wandered around the tower a bit.

Not surprisingly, his wandering carried him back to the sleeping quarters, his intent being to head into the room he'd been given for the time being and see if he had anything to keep himself busy for a few hours. He walked past another room on the way, however, and paused. It was the room Ventus was sleeping in, if that could be called sleeping. His Heart was missing and he was in much the same state Kairi had been in at one point. Except, he'd been in that state for fourteen years.

Curiosity won out and Roxas peeked into the room. He knew Aqua had been spending a considerable amount of time here, which made sense. She probably considered Ventus to be a brother to her and maybe felt responsible for him somehow. Roxas had no way of really knowing, but either way, she wasn't here at the moment.

'What am I doing? It isn't like I can do anything for him. If what everyone's saying is correct, we need Sora.' Despite that thinking, he came to the bedside anyway, finding himself less unsettled than he'd thought he might at the similarity in appearance. It was hard to say they were identical when Ventus still had a fourteen or fifteen year old's body while Roxas was physically eighteen. Still, it was fairly obvious they could be considered to be identical if they had been the same physical age.

After contemplating his uselessness in this situation a little more, Roxas turned to leave, only to turn back when he thought he heard a rustling fabric.

He hadn't been hearing things. Ventus had turned toward him, just slightly, eyes open but utterly blank. The only possibilty to cross Roxas's mind as to why was connections. The theory about where Ventus's Heart was wasn't just a theory and he was responding to... something. Roxas couldn't even begin to guess what, though for one tense moment he did consider the possibility of just how the worlds had been able to grant Eric's wish and the idea terrified him. He left the room in a hurry, thankfully not encountering anyone else, and headed to his own room.

It took him a bit more effort than he would have liked, but he did calm down and took a moment to berate himself for letting his thoughts run away with him like that. If anything, the whole affair had served to show him how insecure he really was about somethings. Thinking on it more calmly and logically, it occurred to him that Ventus had more than likely responded to him because of the connection to where his Heart was.

'I have my own Heart. That was the wish,' Roxas reminded himself. None the less, for the rest of time he was at the tower, he stayed away from Ventus's room...
