Mickey laughed at the comment, flashing Sora and Riku a grin before slipping back into a more serious demeanor.
"Okay. Everybody ready?" He waited a moment for them to make sure that they were. Once he was certain of it, he turned and pressed a button hidden on the throne. The platform it sat on slid to the side, letting a blinding light illuminate the room. It faded just as quickly as it had appeared. A staircase had appeared, leading down into the Hall of the Cornerstone. "Let's go," the King said, marching down.
In the Hall, the Cornerstone of Light shone brightly despite the cloud of Darkness surrounding it. Mickey looked at it sadly, however; the light was faded, just slightly. He wasn't sure what this might mean, but it couldn't be anything good. "This darkness," he told the group solemnly, "is what Minnie and I have been worried about. There any many people who can come in here, and the Hall's always locked. But somehow, this has still happened."
