He led the three to a back room, furnished only by a single mattress and the boy on top of it, sleeping.

"Uh," he said, looking at the group, "how are you guys planning on moving him, exactly? I dunno if carrying him would be that comfortable for him, but if that's what you're set on doing, I can help take him out to your car or something."

God forbid he stay around the brat anymore than he needed to, but with only one guy? They'd probably have trouble getting him out. And besides, women should not be carrying men. It was embarassing, and just plain impolite to let them do it. Koios may not have had a heart, but he still had an (albeit twisted) sense of courtesy.
