Party Thread (because I'm so clever with names)

Who: Eeeeverybody!
What: Party time has finally arrived! Time for everyone to relax a little after all the recent craziness.
Where: Tifa's Bar
When: Friday, Aug. 7
Notes: Open log, thread however. Try not to break the bar.

Everything was ready to go. Seventh Heaven was sparkling clean for the occasion, tables and chairs spaced out nicely across the room. A table against the wall was loaded with a wide variety of food and drinks, both homemade and storebought, and another table held a stack of games in case anyone was in the mood. It was a pretty simple set-up, but everyone who had helped seemed to think that it was just right.

Jenn was nervous, and excited. Finally, she was going to meet all of the people she'd been talking to on the network this past month! She'd been eagerly waiting for this party ever since they'd started set-up (and the chocolate-chip cookies over on the snack table were Jenn Specialty). Now they just needed to arrive. Being the self-designated greeter, Jenn took up a position by the door and waited to point people to the snacks. She made a valiant effort not to look like an overexited geek.

"I can't help thinking these Refugees don't think enough, sometimes. They're convinced they can save him. It's only going to hurt that much more if they can't." He popped open his soda and took a sip. The sighed and said, "I... I don't know. Could you, if it was Riku in such a state?"

He snickered a little at Sora expression, "It's only one. That was all I wanted."

"Being optimistic doesn't mean that they don't think enough," Sora countered, moving on to a chocolate-covered... something on his plate. He popped it into his mouth and scrunched up his nose, but didn't spit it out. "And you keep saying "if". I wouldn't put anything past them, y'know? We just have to believe in that, Roxas." He looked away, wrestling with a thought before quietly adding, "And it did happen to Riku. But everything turned out alright."

He then sighed, moving his plate juuuust out of Roxas's reach, just in case he changed his mind. "Yeah, well... the rest are mine."

"That's just it. We can't know what's going to happen and expecting the best without preparing themselves for the worst is only going to make it that much worse. The fear and sorrow and doubt it could create might even be enough to bring back the Heartless. Hope is a good thing, I guess... but they're getting their hopes up too high." He paused, taking another sip of his soda to cover the uncomfortable silence before going on, "Riku wasn't totally lost, though... and... he had help. Besides, I was only suggesting they consider it because it is possible."

Roxas briefly considered making a grab for another pizza roll, but figured they really didn't need to end up with food on the floor. "I kind of prefer actual pizza anyway."

Sora sighed, shaking his head. "We've dealt with this before, Roxas. Everything will turn out okay. You just have to have a little faith, that's all." His smile returned, but it seemed a little sad this time. "Nothing is ever totally lost."

He then turned back towards the snack table. "Yeah, I'm surprised no one made a pizza. That would be really good about now."

"I... guess." Sad Sora was a sight few liked to see. Roxas was no exception. Unfortunately, he wasn't really sure what to say to cheer him up.

"Well, bars usually serve food too, don't they? Maybe Tifa's got the stuff on hand already to make one. We could ask?" He didn't add that he was halfway thinking they could attempt to make it themselves if Tifa was too busy. Roxas had learned to cook at some point and while pizza would be a new thing, he was pretty sure it was easy enough to figure out. It might even be fun and that thought made show a small smile. A small, maybe slightly mischievous smile...

"Yeah, we could!" Sora cheered up a bit at the idea of making a pizza. Sure, he had never made a pizza before but he had seen pictures and he knew what went on one... it couldn't be that hard, right?

This was sounding more and more like a good idea. Tifa did seem to be a bit busy, so maybe they ought to just leave her alone. Roxas looked around, noting where the door to the kitchen was. Ah there. He finished his soda his soda and made his way to the kitchen, only pausing a second to see if Sora was going to follow him or not.

"If she does serve pizza regularly here, there might be some pizza dough and toppings ready."

Sora eagerly followed him into the kitchen and immediately began searching through the fridge and the cupboards, pulling out ingredients, some which may have come on a pizza and some... well... pickles?

"I think there's some tomato sauce up on the top shelf..." Sora noted, looking around the kitchen for a chair. But it looked like all the extra chairs had been pulled out for the guests mingling outisde. He made a face, and then used High Jump to snatch the jar of tomato sauce from the top shelf, nearly knocking over some soup cans as he did so.

"Okay! Got the sauce!" He began searching through the rest of the cupboards. "Now we just need dough."

Roxas made a face at the pickles. Those pizza rolls never had more than sauce and cheese in them so they kind of left one wanting for more.

He almost cringed when he heard a few cans rattling about as if they were going to fall. Were they really going to screw up so soon? He sighed and began to wonder if maybe they should've just asked Tifa, but he shook the thought away and searched around more. They only needed some pizza dough.

Ah, there it was, in a rather large bowl and hiding under an ever-so-slightly moist towel. Naturally, an establishment that had food would have some things made up ahead of time to make for quicker service. Pizza dough was an obvious choice, given the time it took for rising and resting.

But how much would they need just to make a standard large pizza? He'd gotten pizza here before... and damn, Tifa made good pizza... but he'd never had an occasion to watch her make it.

"This might not be so easy..."
