Party Thread (because I'm so clever with names)

Who: Eeeeverybody!
What: Party time has finally arrived! Time for everyone to relax a little after all the recent craziness.
Where: Tifa's Bar
When: Friday, Aug. 7
Notes: Open log, thread however. Try not to break the bar.

Everything was ready to go. Seventh Heaven was sparkling clean for the occasion, tables and chairs spaced out nicely across the room. A table against the wall was loaded with a wide variety of food and drinks, both homemade and storebought, and another table held a stack of games in case anyone was in the mood. It was a pretty simple set-up, but everyone who had helped seemed to think that it was just right.

Jenn was nervous, and excited. Finally, she was going to meet all of the people she'd been talking to on the network this past month! She'd been eagerly waiting for this party ever since they'd started set-up (and the chocolate-chip cookies over on the snack table were Jenn Specialty). Now they just needed to arrive. Being the self-designated greeter, Jenn took up a position by the door and waited to point people to the snacks. She made a valiant effort not to look like an overexited geek.

Ari wandered the premise of the bar, not quite wanting to do the socializing just yet. She was content just nursing one of Tifa's newest concoctions and watching the party go on without her.

A look flashed across her face, hidden by her hand before she leaned back in her chair, sighing.

"Hey, what's with that sigh?" Ray asked, settling herself into the chair beside Ari's. "C'mon, this party's for you. We can't have the guest of honor moping around," she said with a small smile.

After a pause, she leaned back in her chair with a sigh of her own. She took a big gulp of her drink and asked, "You're worried about him, aren't you?"

Ari shrugged nonchalantly, sucking the flavor still on her spoon. "Dunno. M'not in a big party mood right now."

Her mind wandered off, thinking about everything and anything that popped up, before sighing slightly again. "Prolly yeah. It's a little hard not to be."

Ray leaned over and draped an arm around Ari's shoulders. "Well, maybe you will be if we get enough of those drinks in you," she said with a wink.

She debated what to say for a few moments. Finally, she mumbled, "Yeah, it is, isn't it?" Louder, she continued, "I know it's easier said than done, but try not to dwell on it, okay? We're working on it. C'mon, Song and I - at least - are looking for ways to help the situation, even if we're not really working together. But right now, just... Thinking about it and sulking like this would make things easier for Calum, okay? His magic is like the Heartless: it feeds on negative emotions." She put on a cheeky smile. "So help us out, will ya? Relax, and have fun, if only for tonight."
