Roxas hit send on his latest comment reply and sat back in his seat. What was he doing chatting about that when there were bigger problems? Kairi being in danger, for one. That Mim woman was probably making her miserable enough as it was. If she found out where Kairi had learned the one spell she knew... Well, Roxas didn't really want to think about what would happen then. Which might explain why he was spending so much time exchanging comments with Song at the moment. He was trying to keep his mind off of it.

'Maybe I should go find Seifer,' he thought as he shut down his laptop and stood up. He needed to keep his mind busy and possibly taking some steps to get back into fighting shape wouldn't hurt either. Especially given the likelihood that they'd have a fight on their hands when they went looking for Kairi.

He wasn't being a very nice guest doing this, though. He'd left the mansion in a hurry when he'd gotten out of the digital town and managed to cut his feet up more on some rocks and other things in the woods, only to stumble through the crack in the wall near Tram Common and end up flat on his face again. That had been when Pence had found him. It took him a moment to calm down and explain his situation, at least as much of it as he cared to explain at the moment. At that point, he'd been offered a place to stay until someone could pick him up and a little bit of munny to get a pair of shoes and a jacket.

Incidentally, the jacket had made him realize what had been odd about the rain in the digital town. It was summer in Twilight Town, but with the weird weather, the rain shouldn't have been so pleasant. With that, it occurred to him that he probably should have realized where he was sooner.

For the moment, though, Roxas pushed these thoughts aside as he stepped out. He hadn't initially intended to seek Seifer out for a fight, thinking it better to let him start it. But he was getting cagey. Aside from trying to keep himself from worrying too much, he had other things on his mind. The real Twlight Town had other memories for him and it made clearing his head a bit difficult. Of course, that didn't really make looking for a fight a good idea. It only made it a slightly better idea than sitting around trying to sort his thoughts when they didn't want to be sorted.

Of all places, he found Seifer nosing around near the usual spot along with Rai and Fuu. He supposed he maybe ought to be paying more attention to his memories of the fake town for some things. These three were about as inseparable Hayner, Pence and Olette... just a damn lot meaner.

Fuu noticed Roxas first.

"Intruder," was all she said.

"Visitor," Roxas corrected, "And what are you doing snooping around here? I've only been in town for a couple of days and I've had to stop Hayner from going after you twice when he had no hope of winning. It's only going to get harder if he finds out you were lurking here."

"Mind your manners, stranger," Seifer sneered, "And your business."

"My business is with you, actually. You've been following me around when I'm out and about and the only reason I can see for it is that I met your rival gang first and they've helped me out. What kind of vigilantes follow some poor sot who's on a run of bad luck as if they think he's gonna mug someone at any moment?"

"How do we know you won't?" Seifer didn't even wait for a reply before assuming a fighting stance.

"It's not my style. You have to attack me first to get your ass kicked." Roxas didn't assume a defensive stance yet, deciding to stick to his original plan of letting Seifer start it.

"And what makes you so sure you can kick my ass?"

"A hunch."

Seifer shifted, making ready to charge. Roxas didn't move...

...Until a window rattling roar split the air. It sounded like it had come from behind him and he turned just in time to duck a creature swooping low and aiming for him. Seifer and his crew dove for cover. Once the creature passed, they ran for it, probably expecting Roxas to do the same.

He didn't. He couldn't. What the hell was a creature like that doing here? What was it anyway? Either way, he couldn't fight it in the back alley and it had turned its attention back to him. Hopefully he could lead it to someplace where it wouldn't do too much damage.

The forest was the only place he could think of and once he was sure the creature was focused on him, he ran off, looking back briefly to make sure it was following him. This also gave him a better glimpse of it. It was a wyvern. Lovely. It made another grab for him as he dove through the hole in the wall, slamming into the wall and dislodging a few bricks. If it had hit much harder, it might have knocked out a good sized section of the wall.

With another bellow, the wyvern returned to the air and resumed the chas. Hindered by the trees, it couldn't make quite as many attempts to catch the Keybearer. But he couldn't really fight back under these conditions either. He also doubted that he really should be fighting it, given that it really was a bit much for having been cured of that weird illness less than a week ago.

Things got complicated when it cast an offensive form of Aerora at him. Caught off guard, he was thrown about five feet into a blackberry patch. Not the best way to find a blackberry patch. For now, he managed somehow to get back to his feet quick and dodge another swooping attack from the wyvern, as its Aerora had also cleared away some of the branches blocking it.

If he could remember what that wikipedia page said on wyverns, it would help. The games had been proving accurate about the monsters' strengths and weaknesses so far. Fire was most likely out of the question. So was Aero, mostly because the thing was using it, but also because Roxas hadn't learned the spell in its offensive form yet. He wasn't so sure he should use Thunder either, though. He doubted he'd score any points with the locals if he burned the forest down. That left him with Blizzard and Holy for spells he knew. The bastard was probably truly vulnerable to a spell he didn't know yet anyway.

"Well shit," he grumbled. He cast Reflect when the wyvern cast Aerora at him again and aimed a Blizzaga spell at it when it dove again. It roared in pain as the blades of ice slammed into it and made a clumsy landing. This gave Roxas a close enough look to see the claws it had on its wings and how it was ready to use those claws as well as its fangs.

The wyvern bellowed again and lunged. Roxas was a step ahead, ducking under the swipe and calling his Keyblades to hand as he dashed in and went for the wyvern's belly. It brought it's other wing down fast, catching Roxas on his shoulder even as Oblivion clashed against the scales on its belly. Both Keyblades went flying as he was knocked to the ground, the wind driven from his lungs from the force of the blow. The wyvern roared and stomped its feet a bit. Was it throwing a tantrum? It didn't matter. The beast had made a mistake giving Roxas a chance to get his breath. He struck with Blizzard again, followed it up by throwing the Keyblade at the wyvern's head, bouncing the weapon off its snout. The wyvern only bellowed again and stalked closer, taking a slightly more cautious approach now.

This was getting nowhere. Roxas felt his mana draining faster with the spells than it should've been. He shouldn't have been using any magic at all yet. While he was doing some damage to the wyvern, it seemed to be superficial so far, though he did notice how its wings were shredded from the first Blizzard. It wasn't going to be airborne any time soon. But now he had a problem. While he doubted it could run very fast, he also doubted he could really run from the battle. He had no idea where it had come from, no one in town had said anything about it and he really didn't want to know what it would do if he left it alone. It had come after him, swooping in as though it was hunting. He could not, in good conscience, leave this monster running around unchecked on this world. It was most likely not native, having been shifted here the same way a bunch of other monsters had been shifted, and had no natural enemies here. And it was unlikely anyone on this world knew how to fight anything like this.

He was also at risk of getting killed here and that scared him. What kept him from running right then and there was that he did have friends here. He needed to get to know them a little better, but dammit they'd helped him even though he showed up half panicked and seeming a bit crazy. They didn't know him. Granted, he knew a little about them because the copies in the digital town were accurate, but that was beside the point. Leaving this wyvern wandering around left them in danger.

The wyvern was still just eying him. It wasn't a stupid creature, but its sudden switch from aggressive to cautious gave Roxas a little time to consider his options... and check the severity of his wounds. His shoulder wasn't broken, but it likely would've been it the blow had been just a bit harder. The sharp claws has also left a deep gash. By what luck it hadn't struck certain large blood vessel in the shoulder, he didn't know, but there was still a notable amount of blood. He hadn't expected the scales on the belly to be as tough as they were and since the brute had managed to to injure him, he doubted there was much he could do about that. It was possible he might get somewhere if he kept striking with Blizzard, but he didn't think his mana reserves would hold out that long. Unless...

The wyvern got tired of waiting to see what he would do and charged at him again, this time leaning in to try and bite him. This gave him an opening that might make the rest of this battle easier. He jammed the Keyblade into the beast's open maw, lodging it so that it held the jaws open. It swiped at him with its clawed wings again before he could get clear, grazing his already injured shoulder and this time also catching at his side. It didn't follow up though, being more interested in trying to get a certain giant key out of its jaws and bellowing in frustration as it did.

"Oh shut up already," Roxas muttered, calling on the second Keyblade now. The wyvern notice the flash and heard his mutter and turned its attention to him. It might not be able to bite him at the moment, but that really didn't make it any less dangerous. He waited for the monster to make the next move, quietly preparing Holy as he did.

The wyvern almost seemed like it was also going to wait, but then it took in a deep breath and lowered its head. The motion gave Roxas a clear shot down its throat. He snapped off his spell, not really expecting to have gotten an opening so easily. But he was caught off guard and unable to dodge the wyvern's breath weapon... whatever it was. All he knew for sure was that it knocked him flat and left him so weak he couldn't move. He would've been screwed it his spell hadn't hit home, but thankfully this battle was done.

So was Roxas's strength and it wasn't long before he lost consciousness...
